Parking in the Town of Vysoké Tatry

Basic information: Parking in the Tatras is regulated and mostly paid. The main operator of municipal parking lots is VPS Vysoké Tatry, s.r.o. You can pay with coins, by card or by phone via a QR code (qrpark.me/vysoketatry). Hourly and day tickets are transferable between all VPS parking lots.

Municipal Parking Lot Prices (VPS)

A single price list applies to parking lots operated by VPS Vysoké Tatry (at Popradské Pleso only day tickets are sold). Operating hours: 6:00 – 18:00 daily.

Note: Štrbské Pleso belongs to the municipality of Štrba, not the town of Vysoké Tatry. It has its own parking system with different prices.

TMR and Private Parking Lots

Terraced Parking (TMR) – Tatranská Lomnica

Next to the cable car. First 15 min free, then €2 up to 1 h, €4 up to 2 h, €6 up to 4 h, €10 up to 12 h and €20 for 24 h. A cable car ticket does not entitle you to a discount. Pay at the pay station (cash, card) or in the GOPASS app.

Hrebienok Resort I – Starý Smokovec

Guarded, 24/7. €12/24h.

Hrebienok Resort II – Starý Smokovec

Unguarded. First 30 min free, then €2 for each started hour, max €12/day.

Popradské Pleso

VPS car park at the Popradské Pleso TEŽ stop, about an hour’s walk from the lake. Day tickets only: €15 (bus €100). Limited capacity, fills up quickly in season.

Park & Ride P+R Eurocamp

FREE – Eurocamp, Tatranská Lomnica

Capacity: 450 spaces

Open: Year-round (365 days)

Shuttle service: Every 30–60 minutes

Shuttle price: €1.50 (Biela voda, Kežmarské Žľaby) or €2.00 (Belianska jaskyňa) in cash; cheaper with a transport card

Stops: Tatranská Lomnica station, Tatranské Matliare, Biela voda, Kežmarské Žľaby, Belianska jaskyňa

Tip: This is the most affordable parking option in the Tatras!

Rules and Useful Tips

Prohibited: Sleeping in vehicles, repairs, washing, unleashed animals
Disabled drivers: At least one disabled parking space at every parking lot. Parking there is free.
Towing: Illegally parked vehicles may be towed at the owner’s expense
Saving money: P+R Eurocamp is free; park in Tatranská Štrba and take the rack railway to Štrbské Pleso; the VPS day ticket is transferable between parking lots
